What we do, and don't do, with your data
No resale, no external marketing, no list brokering. Here's exactly what we store, why, and when we delete it.

Privacy doesn’t belong in a long legal text nobody reads. It belongs in one place, in plain language, with the sentences that actually matter. This piece is that.
We store some things about you. We do little with it. And we share it almost never. Below is exactly what, why, and when.
What we store
When you sign up for the Ere Vergoeding list, we store four things:
- Your email address. Required — otherwise we can’t send you an update.
- Postal area. Optional. We use it to decide which provider goes live first.
- Type (household, freelancer, updates only). Optional. We use it to avoid sending you an offer that doesn’t fit.
- Current provider. Optional. We use it to see which prices we need to be competitive against.
In addition, a few technical fields are filled in automatically:
- A hash of your IP address (not the raw IP). Only for abuse detection.
- Your country (from Cloudflare metadata).
- Your browser user-agent. To spot scripted spam signups.
- The referring page. To see where people are coming from.
- Date of signup and last update.
That’s all. No cookies for advertising, no analytics that follow you across sites, no complicated third parties.
What we do with it
Three things, and only these three:
- Send updates. At most a few per month, only when we have something concrete to report.
- Decide where to start. Postal areas and current providers determine which route we finish first.
- Make a concrete offer once the first paid route is ready. You’re free to say no.
What we don’t do with it
Equally important:
- No resale. Your email does not go to ad networks, data brokers, or “partners you’re probably interested in”.
- No external marketing. If a third party asks whether they can send you a mailing through us, the answer is no.
- No cross-site tracking. We don’t have a tracking pixel, advertising cookies, or retargeting.
- No raw IPs. We hash your IP the moment the signup arrives. We don’t even have the original.
The only exception: if you agree to a concrete Ere Vergoeding offer, we share the minimum required information with the provider executing that offer. That’s always your choice, per offer — not a blanket checkbox up front.
How long we keep it
- Signup active: for as long as you’re on the list.
- Unsubscribed: we delete immediately, or as soon as technically possible. No “we keep you on file for three years for marketing purposes” — that’s exactly what we don’t want to be.
- Failed signup (e.g. invalid email): not stored.
You can unsubscribe from any update we send, or by contacting us through the route shared in the first mailing.
Why we write about this
Because most privacy pages aren’t meant to be read. They’re meant to provide cover. That’s the opposite of what we’re trying to do here.
We want you to sign up with the same information that we have, not less. Not because we have to, but because a lowest-price guarantee without an explanation of how we handle your data doesn’t deserve any trust at all.
The same applies to our provider approach and the mechanics of the guarantee itself. Everything behind it is here.
